Abstract:

 The weight loss plateau is a particularly challenging issue during the obesity treatment process. This article systematically summarizes the effective strategies employed by Li Bin， for managing weight loss plateaus in obesity. Professor Li Bin believes that the expulsion of turbid pathogens from the body during weight loss requires the propulsion of vital qi. This process consumes vital qi， and when qi deficiency becomes insufficient to expel turbid pathogens， weight loss stagnates， leading to a plateau.Furthermore， Professor Li Bin categorizes qi deficiency into two types： systemic qi deficiency and local qi deficiency. During treatment， it is essential to first determine whether the plateau is due to systemic or local qi deficiency. For cases of systemic qi deficiency， Professor Li often uses Chinese herbal medicine is used， to tonify and enhance the overall qi capacity. When qi is sufficient and propulsion is strong， turbid pathogens can be effectively expelled from the body. For cases of local qi deficiency， fire needle therapy is commonly employed to unblock the qi pathways in the obese areas， guiding the surrounding qi and blood to converge there. Once local qi and blood are replenished， propulsion becomes effective， turbid pathogens are expelled， and the plateau can be successfully overcome.In addition， combining appetite regulation can effectively enhance therapeutic outcomes. The integrated use of acupuncture and herbal medicine has yielded satisfactory clinical results.
