The Application of Cupping Therapy in Common Pediatric Diseases

Abstract

Cupping therapy， a tradition Chinese external treatment， has been practiced for millennia. Recently， its application in pediatrics has gained attention as traditional medicine becomes more widely used and studied. As a non-pharmacological therapy， cupping is favored for its simplicity， low risk of sid effects， and proven efficacy. Modern studies confirm it enhances local blood flow， modulates neuroimmunity， and reduces inflammation， thereby alleviating symptoms. Clinical observations and modern research show it has unique advantages in treating common pediatric diseases. This paper explores its mechanisms： traditionally， it balances the body’s Yin and Yang， promotes Qi and blood circulation， and unblocks meridians to treat diseases . Clinical cases demonstrate its significant effectiveness in treating common pediatric conditions like colds， coughs， diarrhea， abdominal pain， and bedwetting. This year， there have been numerours discussions in the literature regarding the therapeutic effects and related cases of cupping therapy， and it has also been widely applied in other medical specialties. The conclusion is that cupping therapy offers unique advantages in treating common pediatric diseases. It is simple， convenient， non-invasive， and easily accepted by children， making it a safe.
