Discussion on TCM Prevention and Treatment of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Based on TCM Constitution Theory

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLD） is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide， and the adult prevalence rate in China is nearly 30%， so it is urgent to establish an individualized prevention and treatment system. The theory of constitution of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） emphasizes "correlation between body and disease"， which provides a unique perspective for exploring the etiology， pathogenesis and precise intervention of NAFLD. Based on the medical works of past dynasties， this paper systematically combs the characteristics of the etiology and pathogenesis of NAFLD， and expounds the key role of physical imbalance in the progress of the disease based on the four theoretical frameworks of TCM constitution theory put forward by Academician Wang Qi， a master of traditional Chinese medicine. According to the basic connotation of TCM constitution theory， the high-risk constitution can be accurately identified and early intervention can be carried out through the mode of "body diagnose-disease differentiation-syndrome differentiation"， with the goal of "improving the soil and cutting off the disease"， and a prospective intervention strategy centered on constitution adjustment and treatment can be constructed. This study combines the holistic concept of TCM， the theory of TCM constitution and the three core principles of syndrome differentiation and treatment， and puts forward the acupuncture and drug prevention and treatment scheme of "invigorating spleen and eliminating dampness"， "nourishing yuan and benefiting qi" and "clearing heat and promoting diuresis". It laid a theoretical foundation for individualized TCM diagnosis and treatment of NAFLD， and built a diagnosis system of "prevention before illness， prevention after illness" in order to establish continuous intervention windows and individualized treatment paths for NAFLD management.
