Effects of Suin Jiedu Formula on Clinical Efficacy and Prognosis of TCM Syndromes in Patients with Moderate to Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease with Kidney Deficiency and Turbid Toxin Syndrome

Objective： To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Suyin jiedu formula in patients with moderate to advanced chronic kidney disease （CKD） with the syndrome of kidney deficiency and turbid toxin， and to investigate its influence on the prognosis of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） syndromes.Methods： A total of 120 patients with moderate to advanced CKD treated in our hospital between May 2023 and May 2025 were retrospectively enrolled and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the treatment received， with 60 cases in each group. Both groups received standard comprehensive treatment， including management of primary disease and complications， blood pressure and glucose control， renal protection， and standardized treatment of CKD-related complications， for 3 months. The observation group additionally received suyin jiedu formula treatment. The clinical efficacy， TCM syndrome scores ， renal function indicators ［blood urea nitrogen （BUN）， serum creatinine （Scr）， estimated glomerular filtration rate （eGFR）， and 24 h urinary total protein （24 h UTP）］， inflammatory markers ［C-reactive protein （CRP）， tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）， and interleukin-6 （IL-6）］ before and after 3 months of treatment， and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Correlation analysis and multivariate linear regression analysis were performed to explore the relationship between total TCM syndrome scores and renal function indicators.Results： The total effective rate in the observation group （93.33%） was higher than that in the control group （80.00%） （P < 0.05）. After 3 months of treatment， the TCM syndrome scores， BUN， Scr， 24 h UTP， and inflammatory markers of the two groups of patients decreased， while eGFR increased， with more pronounced improvements observed in the observation group （P < 0.05）. Correlation analysis showed that the total TCM syndrome score was positively correlated with Scr， BUN， and 24 h UTP （r = 0.46–0.58， P < 0.001）， and negatively correlated with eGFR （r = -0.52， P < 0.001）. Multivariate linear regression analysis indicated that the total TCM syndrome score was an independent related factor for the changes of Scr and eGFR （P < 0.05）. There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups （13.33% vs. 8.33%， P > 0.05）.Conclusion： On the basis of modern comprehensive medical treatment， the addition of suyin jiedu formula can significantly improve TCM syndromes， renal function， and alleviate systemic inflammatory responses in patients with moderate to advanced CKD with kidney deficiency and turbid toxin syndrome. The degree of improvement of TCM syndromes is closely associated with changes in renal function， suggesting a certain degree of consistency between TCM syndrome evolution and clinical parameters， and the overall safety of this treatment is good.
