Abstract: Objective:To investigate the correlation between TCM syndromes and related examinations and laboratory indexes in patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT).Methods:72 patients with abnormal glucose tolerance were randomly collected from the department of ophthalmology, and the TCM syndromes were determined, and their body mass index (BMI), blood glucose, insulin level, insulin resistance(HOMA-IR), index beta cell secretion index (HOMA-) were measured. Results:Qi deficiency and phlegm wet group, yinxuzaore group, deficiency of both qi and Yin group BMI were significantly increased; deficiency of both qi and Yin group, the levels of blood glucose level highest;Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness group, insulin level was the highest. Each card type HOMA-IR for increased gradually, dryness heat due to deficiency of Yin Syndrome < Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness < gas Yin deficiency syndrome; the syndrome between HOMA beta decreased gradually, dryness heat due to deficiency of Yin Syndrome>Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness > deficiency of both qi and Yin.Conclusion:TCM syndrome types of IGT are related to BMI, blood glucose, insulin and pancreatic islet beta cell function, which can be used as a reference for clinical medicine.
