A Bibliometric Analysis of Problem-Based Learning in Foreign Papers

摘要: 目的:对以问题为基础的学习(problem-based learning,PBL)外文研究进行计量学分析,以期为PBL教学研究者开展相关研究提供借鉴和参考。方法:通过检索数据库纳入PBL教学外文研究,采用书目共现分析系统(BICOMS-2)软件对纳入文献的发表语言、期刊、国家和发表时间等信息进行提取和整理,采用VOSviewer 1.6.10软件提取作者和关键词信息,并生成高产作者和高频关键词的聚类图。结果:通过检索共获得以22种语言形式发表的有效文献8 574篇。1 371种期刊刊载了相关研究,载文量最多的期刊为《Medical Education》 (480篇)。58个国家的专家学者参与了PBL教学研究的发表,地区之间存在不均衡性,发文量前两位的国家为美国(3 803篇)和英国(2 371篇)。发文量前3位的作者为van der Vleuten CPM (69篇)、Schmidt HG (46篇)和Dolmans DHJM (35篇)。主要作者形成13个合作团体,但各团体之间、各团体内部成员之间的合作不紧密。研究的热点主题有5个,PBL教学在不同类型的医学生课程教学和临床能力培养中的应用及效果评价是研究的主要关注点。结论:PBL教学外文研究的数量呈由递增到递减的趋势,期刊载文数量存在差异,开展研究的国家相对较少,不同地区存在不平衡性,国家之间的合作需进一步加强,参与的作者众多,但高产作者数量较少。研究的主题有5个,仍需开拓新的研究主题。

Abstract: Objective:To conduct a bibliometric analysis of problem-based learning(PBL) in foreign papers in order to provide reference for PBL researchers. Methods:The database was searched for PBL researches in foreign language.The BICOMS-2 software was used to extract and sort out the published language, journal, country and publication time.The author and keywords were extracted by VOSviewer 1.6.10 software, and generate clustering maps of high-yield authors and high-frequency keywords. Results:A total of 8 574 articles published in 22 languages were obtained through search.1 371 journals published relevant researches, and the most productive journal was Medical Education (480). 58 countries participated in the publication of PBL researches, and there were imbalances between the regions.The top two productive countries were the United States (3 803) and the United Kingdom (2 371).The top three authors were van der Vleuten CPM (69), Schmidt HG (46) and Dolmans DHJM(35).The main authors formed 13 cooperative groups, but the cooperation between the various groups and the members of each group was not close. There were five hot research topics. The application and effect evaluation of PBL in the teaching and clinical ability training of different types of medical students was the main hotspot. Conclusion:The number of PBL researches is from increasing to decreasing.There is an imbalance in the journals involved.There are relatively few countries conducting research, and there are imbalances in different regions.Cooperation between countries needs to be further strengthened. There are many authors involved, but few high-yielding authors.There are five research themes, and new research topics still need to be developed.
