Abstract: Objective： To investigate the medical students′ willingness to work in pediatrics department and their views on pediatric profession， and to provide a foundation for the construction and development of pediatric talents while promoting the employment of medical students in pediatrics. Methods： A questionnaire survey was conducted among 425 clinical and nursing medical students. Random sampling method was used to collect questionnaires， and SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysis of the data. Results： Among the 192 pediatric medical students who participated in this study， only 39.1% of the students think that the employment prospects of pediatrics are good， but 90.6% of the students are still willing to choose pediatric employment.Among the 150 nursing students， 72.7% of the students think that the employment prospects of pediatrics are good， but only 32.7% of the students are willing to choose pediatric employment. Among the 83 students of other clinical majors， 47.0% of the students think that the employment prospects of pediatrics are good， but only 15.7% of the students are willing to choose pediatrics employment.The medical students who participated in this study believe that improving salary level， improving occupational safety， promoting hierarchical diagnosis and treatment， and reducing workload will promote pediatric employment. Conclusion： In order to promote the training of pediatric talents， reduce the loss of pediatric talent resources， and improve the willingness of medical students to engage in pediatric occupation， it is necessary to guide medical students to understand macro policies， change the views on pediatric profession， and cultivate a talent team that can adapt to the development of pediatrics to promote pediatric employment.
