Abstract: Objective： To observe the clinical efficacy of xiaoqinglong plus gypsum decoction on acute cough in children with the syndrome of phlegm heat accumulated in lung. Methods： 104 hospitalized children diagnosed as acute cough with the syndrome of phegm heat accumulated in lung from January to December 2019 in pediatrics of our hospital were selected， which were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, each had 52 cases. Both groups were routinely treated with anti-infection， expectorant， antitussive， antipyretic，etc.The observation group was treated with xiaoqinglong plus gypsum decoction on the basis of the treatment of the control group，2 times/d. The course of treatment is 3 d. The curative effects of the two groups were evaluated by observing the cough， expectoration， pulmonary rales scores before and after treatment and the duration of hospital stay. Results： The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.31%，which was higher than that of the control group (75.00%) (P<0.05).The cough， expectoration， pulmonary rales scores after treatment and the duration of hospital stay of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion： In addition to the conventional treatment of western medicine， xiaoqinglong plus gypsum decoction can effectively improve the symptoms and signs (cough， expectoration， pulmonary rales) and the duration of hospital stay of patients compared with the conventional treatment of western medicine alone.
