Abstract: Objective: To discuss the treatment and pharmaceutical care on a patient with skin infection of the waist and buttocks caused by Nocardia, and to provide reference for the clinical rational use of drugs. Methods: Clinical pharmacists provided whole-course pharmaceutical care for a patient with skin infection of the waist and buttocks cansed by Nocardia. And based on the clinical characteristics of the patient, combined with literature reports, the medication problems were timely discovered and solved, and pharmacists provided reasonable suggestions for clinicians to choose treatment options. Results: The patient′s waist and hip skin abscess was basically cured and discharged from hospital after debridement and sulfamethoxazole anti-infection treatment recommended by clinical pharmacists. Conclusion: Sulfamethoxazole is effective in the treatment of Nocardia infection. Clinical pharmacists play an important role in assisting clinical selection of anti-infective drugs and monitoring the patient′s condition.
