Abstract: Lower extremity motor dysfunction is a common sequelae of stroke patients. According to relevant research， 63% of patients in the early stage after stroke cannot walk independently. Even after clinical and rehabilitation treatments， 22% of patients still cannot walk. This seriously affects the daily life of patients， leads to a significant decline in their living ability and quality of life， which increase the patient′s psychological burden， causing anxiety， depression， low self-esteem， irritability and other bad emotions. On the other hand， it greatly increases the difficulty of nursing care for the caregiver and the financial burden of the patient′s family. This article summarizes the research progress on lower extremity motor dysfunction after stroke from the aspects of the mechanism， traditional Chinese medicine treatment， modern rehabilitation therapy， and on this basis， explains the current problems in treatment of lower extremity motor dysfunction after stroke， so as to provide reference for clinic treatment of lower extremity motor dysfunction.
