Abstract: Objective： To explore the efficacy of huangqi guizhi wuwu decoction in the treatment of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods： 80 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy who were treated in our hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method， they were divided into the control group and the test group， with 40 cases in each group. Both two groups of patients received conventional treatment after admission. The control group was given beraprost sodium tablets and epalrestat tablets， and the test group was given huangqi guizhi wuwu decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 3 months continuously. The TCM symptom scores， serum inflammatory factor levels and nerve conduction velocity before and after the treatment were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the TCM symptoms scores on numbness of hands and feet， pain at the end of the limbs， fatigue， shortness of breath， spontaneous sweating， fear of wind， squamous and dry skin， the level of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) of the two groups of patients decreased compared with those before the treatment (P<0.05)， and the decrease in the test group was more obvious than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment， the motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV) of the two groups of patients accelerated (P<0.05)， and the acceleration of the test group was more obvious than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion： The treatment of huangqi guizhi wuwu decoction can effectively accelerate the nerve conduction velocity of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy， improve TCM symptoms， reduce the serum inflammatory factor level， and promote the improvement of the condition.
