Abstract: Objective：By investigating Guiyang residents′ knowledge of safe medication and their medication behavior，to understand the current situation of self-medication and safe medicition of residents in Guiyang City， and provide reference for further improving the level of residents′ safe medication.Methods:Convenience sampling was adopted to conduct a questionnaire survey among residents of Guiyang City. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed， and 294 questionnaires were effectively collected， with an effective collected rate of 98.00%. Results:The average score of the respondents on the knowledge of safe medication was(6.17±2.81) points(total score was 10 points); 168 people(57.14%) of the respondents said that they mainly purchased drugs through retail pharmacies. 249 respondents(84.69%) said they will read the instructions before taking medicines，but they pay less attention to the validity period of the medicine157 people(accounting for 53.40%) and adverse reactions 142 people, (accounting for 48.30%); 90.82%(267 people) of the respondents had once not follow the presolibed cause or time of medication only 23.47%(69 people) of the respondents had been exposed to drug knowledge lectures on medication knowledge or drug safety education activities. Conclusion:There is still a certain lack of knowledge about safe medication among residents，and there are certain hidden dangers in their medication behavior.It is necessary to strengthen health education and the publicity of medicaion knowledge use for residents in Guiyang City，improve residents′ awareness of safe medication，guide residents′ safe medication behavior，and improve residents′ safe medication level.
