Abstract: Stroke has become the second cause of death in the world and the first cause of death and disability among adults in China, of which 80% are ischemic stroke (IS). At present, early drug thrombolysis is the preferred treatment for IS, but it is easy to induce cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI).Oxidative stress (OS) is the basic mechanism of CIRI,therefore, OS targeted treatment strategies are of great significance to improve CIRI.Satisfactory results have been achieved in the researches on the treatment of CIRI by traditional Chinese medicine. Current studies have confirmed that many active ingredients of Chinese herb medicine play a neuroprotective role in CIRI through anti-OS.In this study, the active ingredients of Chinese herb medicine against CIRI are divided into 6 categories according to their chemical structure, and the relevant mechanisms of OS targeting anti-CIRI are reviewed, aiming to provide scientific basis and innovative ideas for developing more new effective drugs for treating CIRI.
