Abstract: The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) is a harmonized standard that has been actively promoted worldwide by the United Nations and has been widely adopted. As one of the member countries of the international agreement， China is actively promoting the full implementation of GHS. The use of compliant chemical safety labels is not only the requirement for compliance management by the national administration， but also an efficient measure to effectively convey the safety information of chemical products and protect the safety of public life and property. The use of GHS safety labels for hazardous chemical can effectively convey information on the hazardous characteristics and safety information of chemicals， while the use of QR codes enables real-time and convenient access to relevant data and information and data maintenance. The combination of GHS and QR codes for the safety management of hazardous chemicals in medical institutions can effectively raise the safety awareness of medical staff and patients， and improve the efficiency of managing hazardous chemicals in medical institutions. Based on the overview of GHS and the relevant characteristics of hazardous chemicals used in medical institutions， this study puts forward the ideas on the application of safety labels combining GHS and QR codes in the safety management of hazardous chemicals in medical institutions， in order to enhance the systematic， standardized， efficient and scientific management of hazardous chemicals in medical institutions and provide convenient， efficient and standardized safety protection for doctors and patients.
