Abstract:

Objective： To analyze the current research status and hotspots of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） treatment for post-infectious cough （PIC） using bibliometric methods.Methods： Literature related to the treatment of post-infectious cough with TCM from January 2000 to December 2023 was searched in CNKI， Wanfang and VIP databases， and bibliometric analyses of the authors， institutions and keywords of the included literature were carried out using the CiteSpace 6.2.R4 software， and visualization maps were drawn.Results： A total of 1 000 relevant articles were included， with a general upward trend in the number of annual publications. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine are the core institutions in this research field. TCM syndrome score， data mining， external treatment methods of TCM， airway inflammation， the theory of “wind evils lurking in the lung” are the hotspots with high attention in the past 5 years， and the research content is more focused on the exploration of the optimal indications and clinical efficacy of TCM treatment for post-infectious cough. Conclusion： In recent years， the research related to the treatment of post-infectious cough by TCM has made some progress， and the evolution of research hotspots is deeply coupled with the needs of clinical practice. In the future， scholars should strengthen the top-level design of clinical research protocols based on maintaining the characteristics of TCM， conduct large-sample， multi-center， high-quality clinical researches， pay attention to the evaluation of long-term efficacy， and strengthen the study of the mechanism of action， so as to improve the TCM diagnostic and therapeutic system for post-infectious cough.
