Abstract: Objective：To compare the topics of viral pneumonia in Chinese and foreign research using bibliometric methods， in order to provide reference for the future research of viral pneumonia. Methods： Relevant information of viral pneumonia research was obtained by searching the Chinese biomedical literature database and Embase.com database. VOSviewer 1.6.13 software was used to extract the published journals， publication years， authors， and keywords， and generate a cooperative network diagram of high-yielding authors and a cluster network diagram of high-frequency keywords. Results： 3 243 Chinese viral pneumonia studies were published in 805 journals， the《Clinical Pediatric Journal 》(44 articles) was the most productive Chinese journal， 12 231 foreign language research were published in 3 218 journals， and the《Journal of Virology 》(185 articles) was the most productive English journal. The main Chinese authors formed 8 cooperative groups， and the main foreign language authors formed 5 groups. The cooperation among different groups was not close. There were five topics in Chinese viral pneumonia research and four topics in foreign viral pneumonia research. Imaging and laboratory diagnosis of viral pneumonia， and the efficacy and adverse effects of commonly used antiviral drugs on viral pneumonia are common focused topics. Conclusion： The research on viral pneumonia was mainly published after 2002. There were many types of journals that published related research， but the number of high-yielding journals is small. China occupied a leading position in the field of viral pneumonia. There were many research cooperation groups， but the cooperation between different groups was not close. There were some differences in research topics between Chinese and foreign viral pneumonia.
