Abstract: Objective： To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of CO2 laser cautery in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis in children. Methods： 100 cases of children chronic tonsillitis treated in the outpatient of our hospital from January 2019 to December 2019 were included in the study. The clinical efficacy， tonsil hypertrophy degree， quantitative scores of clinical symptoms and signs of the patients were observed after the treatment of palatal tonsillitis with CO2 laser cautery. Results： With the increase of the frequency of CO2 laser cautery treatment， the scores of clinical symptoms and signs of the patients decreased gradually， and there were statistical differences compared with those before treatment after 2， 4 and 6 times of CO2 laser cautery(P<0.05). After 6 times of CO2 laser cautery treatment， the cure rate was 5%， the obvious effective rate was 70%， and the total effective rate was 100%， which had statistical difference with those after 4 times of treatment (P<0.05). Follow-up at 3 months， 6 months and 1 year after treatment showed no obvious signs of relapse. There were no obvious adverse reactions in all the patients during treatment and follow-up. Conclusion： CO2 laser cautery in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis in children has definite clinical efficacy， high safety and positive long-term efficacy.
