Abstract: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is one of the common endocrine diseases in gynecology. Its incidence rate is increasing year by year and the age of patients tends to be younger. There is no name for this disease in traditional Chinese medicine. However， it has been summarized through generations of doctors that the lesion is related to the kidney， liver and spleen， and their respective experiences were widely applied in clinical practice. Existing researches have also confirmed the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of POI. Professor Yang Zhengwang has rich experience in the treatment of POI. She believes that renal deficiency and liver stagnation is one of the main pathogenesis of POI. During the development of this disease， renal deficiency and liver stagnation affect the function of the spleen and stomach， leading to spleen deficiency and weak blood. Therefore， in clinical practice， enriching the kidney and replenishing yin， dispersing liver and regulating menstruation are the main treatment methods. Professor Yang Zhengwang learned from ancient books and summarized experience，and combined guishen wan and xiaoyao san into guixiao fang to treat POI patients. In this way， renal deficiency， liver stagnation and blood deficiency can be improved， achieving the goal of improving patients′ menstrual conditions and protecting ovarian function. This study summarizes the clinical experience of using guixiao fang to treat POI， in order to provide reference for clinical treatment of this disease.
