Abstract:  Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) is a common cervical spondylosis. It is caused by degenerative changes of cervical intervertebral disc tissue and its secondary pathological changes. The clinical manifestations include that it is pain around the cervical spine, which is worse during activity, and there are occasionally compulsive positions with limited mobility, tenderness, stiffness of the cervical spine joints, upper limb radiation pain or numbness. CSR has great impact on the normal work and life of patients. Traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine have different understanding of its etiology and different emphasis on diagnosis and treatment. On the treatment level， traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine have their own characterstics in the treatment of CSR. Traditional Chinese medicine pays attention to relieve the disease， which is non-invasive and low cost， while western medicine pays attention to the timely and affirmative curative effect， and the combination treatment of traditional Chinese and western medicine has more obvious effect on CSR. By searching related literatures and summarizing them， the curative effects of different treatment methods were compared horizontally in this article， so as to provide reference for clinical.
