Abstract: Objective： To optimize the opration process of pharmacy automation system, improve the work efficiency of pharmacists, and provide reference for the construction and optimization of the automation system used in outpatient pharmacy. Methods: The problems occurred in use of the propretay Chinese medicine automatic dispensing system in our hospital were classified,sorted out and summarized. The causes of the problems were analysed, the improvement plan was discussed, and the average time of dosing time and the average time of prescription distribution of the automatic dispensing system were taken as the evaluation criteria. Results: Through system operation optimization process and construction strategy, the utilization rate of system automation is improved, and the average daily dosing time and average prescription dispensing time of the system are shortened. Conclusion: The pharmacy automatic dispensing system can meet the needs of daily drug deployment. After the automatic dispensing system is put into use, it should be combined with the actual situation of the hospital to continuously optimize the system operation process, reduce the proportion of system problems, and improve the work efficiency and quality of the department，so as to ensure the normal and efficient operation of the system to the greatest extent.
