Abstract: Objective：To discuss the hot issues of purchasing management of medical consumables in medical institutions， and to analyze the research development of medical consumables management in new era.Methods：The CiteSpace software was used， which is one of the software of visualizing patterns and trends in scientific literature， and the core journal articles in recent years were downloaded from CNKI， which focus on the purchasing management of medical consumables and are from hospitals. 1574 articles were counted， and the quality and agency of publication and time clustering of high-frequency keywords were analyzed. Results：The research topics include fine management of medical consumables， bidding and purchasing mode， cost control and so on， and the research on medical consumables purchasing management in medical institutions has experienced three periods: the exploration period from 2000 to 2008， the development period from 2009 to 2015， and the mature period from 2016 to 2018. Since 2019， the research has been greatly influenced by the emergent public health events and the government policy. Conclusion: Medical institutions should constantly promote hospital informatization， attach importance to the application of unique device identifier(UDI) in consumable material fine management， better use economics and other scientific methods to control the cost of medical consumables， pay attention to medical insurance payment method， and realize the value of medical treatment.
