Abstract: Objective：To analyze the situation of drug consultation in outpatient department of a three A hospital for providing safe and effective pharmaceutical services for patients， and improving the level of pharmaceutical services. Methods： The drug consultation situation was collected from the consultation center in the outpatient department from January to May in 2019 and it was made a statistical analysis by using the datas above. Results：A total of 470 consultations were received in outpatient drug consultation window. The main drug counseling groups were patients and their families， accounting for 88.5% of the total number of consultations. The top five consulting departments were geriatrics， pediatrics， endocrinology， respiratory and ophthalmology. The main types of consulting drugs were cardiovascular system drugs， pediatric drugs， hypoglycemic drugs， respiratory drugs， and topical drugs. The main consulting contents were medication time， drug usage and dosage， drug efficacy， drugs for special groups， adverse drug reactions， etc. 97.4% of patients were satisfied with pharmacists′ solution. Conclusion：Pharmacists should continue to learn and improve medical knowledge while using drug-related knowledge to provide medication counseling to patients. Pharmacists should also pay attention to the communication skills with patients， expand publicity efforts， and provide safe， effective and economical pharmaceutical services for more patients.
