Abstract: Objective： Promote high-quality development of the team of licensed pharmacists and serve medication safety for the public. Methods： The development history of the system and team of licensed pharmacists， and the management status of licensed pharmacists during the 13th Five-Year Plan period were sorted out， and suggestions for promoting high-quality development of the licensed pharmacist team in the new era were put forward. Results：The system and team construction of licensed pharmacists in China has made great progress， but the role of licensed pharmacists in pharmaceutical care is insufficient， and it still has a gap between the public′s increasing demands for rational use of drugs. Conclusion： It is suggested to strengthen the top-level design， persistently implement the licensed pharmacist qualification system， carry out researches on new business forms to standardize the practice behavior of licensed pharmacists， strengthen the promotion of safe medication， and continue to carry out “the most beautiful pharmacist” activities， strengthen registration and continuing education management， improve the ability and quality of the licensed pharmacist team， so as to lay the foundation for promoting the high-quality development of licensed pharmacists team.
